About Us

Founded in 2016 by Dan Mitchell, Farmer’s Son Co. began as a small fragrance studio built on curiosity and craft. What started with a few candles poured at the kitchen table has grown into a prairie concept shoppe where scent, design and good living come together under one roof.

Inside our Winnipeg shoppe and studio, the work still begins with fragrance. Our candles, incense, and room sprays are designed and poured by hand, surrounded by an evolving collection of goods for home and daily life. Shelves are lined with Canadian and European gourmet grocery, chocolate, linens, garden tools, bar and entertaining essentials, books, along with gifts chosen with care. Every item has a story and a reason for being here.

Farmer’s Son Co. isn’t just about what we make. It’s about how things make us feel. The quiet comfort of a familiar scent. The weight of a well-made tool. The small, thoughtful details that turn a house into a home.

With roots on a small family farm in Manitoba’s Parkland region, the Farmer’s Son Co. lab and creative space is based in Winnipeg’s West End.

Farmer’s Son Co. acknowledges that we are settlers residing on Treaty 1, the original lands of Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene Peoples, and on the homeland of the Métis Nation.
