Across the Prairies, a pair of taper candles has long been part of the table. Lit for supper, gatherings with friends or the quiet glow of a winter evening, they bring a simple warmth that feels both familiar and enduring.

Our 10 inch beeswax taper candles are handmade in Saskatchewan using pure beeswax. Naturally golden in colour with a subtle honeyed scent, they burn with a steady, bright flame that adds warmth and atmosphere wherever they are lit.

At Farmer’s Son Co., we are drawn to goods that reflect the landscapes and traditions of the Canadian Prairies. These beeswax tapers carry that same spirit, a classic candle made close to home and meant to be enjoyed through the everyday moments that gather people around the table.

Avoid burning taper candles near drafts such as open windows, air vents or fans. Moving air will cause uneven burning and excessive dripping.

Always trim the wick to 1/4 inch (0.63 cm) before lighting. Long or crooked wicks can create an uneven flame and lead to dripping.

Burn taper candles only in a properly fitting candle holder that keeps the candle upright and stable.

Never burn candles near combustible materials and never leave a burning candle unattended.

Do not burn taper candles all the way to the bottom of the holder. Extinguish the flame before the candle reaches the base.

When burning multiple candles outside of holders, keep them at least 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) apart.

Store candles in a cool, dark, dry place and keep them laid flat to prevent warping. Beeswax candles may fade if exposed to prolonged sunlight or strong indoor lighting.

Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame to prevent hot wax from splattering.
