It was in Mexico a few years back that we stumbled across a small workshop, crafting beautiful artisan glass utilizing recycled glass. What was supposed to be a relaxing getaway turned into a buying trip & the beginning of a special partnership that continues to this day.
Each of our limited edition black tumblers have been handblown exclusively for Farmer’s Son Co. in Tonola, Mexico. Adding to this, workers within the glassware facility are paid a fair wage, taught the art of glassblowing, which in turn helps to grow the local economy of the region and increase sustainability of existing resources.
In developing Hunger, I wanted to create a fragrance that pushed me in a different direction. The idea of creating a story that was grownup. The idea of a fragrance that's intimate and dare I say, more sexual than anything I've designed in the past.
I wanted to create something specific to those moments that we find ourselves in late at night - however they may look.
A number of thoughts came to mind as I started playing with fragrance. Memories of stumbling in the door after a night out. The sound of shoes being kicked off. Whispered tones that are more loud than not. Quiet (and not so quiet) laughter. Dim lights and favourite records being pulled out of their sleeves.
A single candle setting the scene.
That feeling of longing. Desire. Hunger.
You get where I'm going with this.
I wanted to create something that lent itself specifically towards those intimate moments in life. Whatever they may look like. Solo. With a loved one. With that special someone. With that fleeting love interest. With whoever you find yourself with in the moment.
Basically I've designed a fragrance best enjoyed after midnight.
Top notes of fir needles open up to a heart of heady and herbaceous lavender paired with wild violet (so damn sexy). I then went all out with lingering base notes that are sure to last long after the night has wrapped. Sandalwood, white musk, santalum and a woody accord are sure to leave their presence known.
Glass handblown in Mexico utilizing recycled glass. Candle small batch crafted by hand in our Winnipeg lab & creative space.
